Peter Ingelse has been working at ReulingSchutte since 1 September 2015 as a MFN Registered Mediator, arbitrator and binding advisor. He has a wide range of experience having worked (in chronological order) as a researcher at the Universities of Groningen and Amsterdam, as an attorney, as a judge for the Amsterdam District Court and as a judge for the Amsterdam Court of Appeal. He had served as the vice-president of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal since 2001. For several years, he was the president of the preliminary relief unit at the Amsterdam Court of Appeal and from August 2009 until May 2015, he was president of the special Enterprise Chamber (Ondernemingskamer) of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal.
During his long career as a lawyer and a judge, Peter Ingelse gained a wide range of dispute resolution experience, not just through adjudicating disputes at law, but also through his involvement in consulting on, negotiating and arranging amicable settlements. He uses that vast experience in his work as a mediator, arbitrator and binding advisor. He focuses on business mediations, primarily commercial disputes and disputes between legal entities and partnerships, such as those between shareholders, between bodies within a legal entity and between works councils and legal entities.
Peter Ingelse is also available to guide moot court proceedings, acting as a sounding board so that oral arguments and hearings can be rehearsed in advance and constructive feedback can be given to improve. Moot court proceedings are generally suitable for cases involving substantial interests.
Peter Ingelse has published on a wide range of topics and recently on mediation (see under publications).
Peter Ingelse is member of the Advisory Board of the Nederlandse Mediatorsvereniging.
