Ferry van Schoonhoven has worked as a lawyer for 40 years at various national and international law firms, including the Amsterdam-based law and civil-law notary firm Lexence NV, which he co-founded in 1992 together with four colleagues. After completing his mediation training at ADR, he transitioned to ReulingSchutte as a business mediator.
Ferry focuses on business mediation, process facilitation, and guided negotiations in commercial disputes. He specializes in real estate matters, including purchase and sale transactions, leasing and letting, project development, and public–private partnerships. In addition, he conducts mediations in various (legal) disputes between shareholders/partners within professional partnerships in the legal profession, civil-law notaries, consulting, real estate brokerage, and other professional services, as well as between sovereign states and multinational corporations. Ferry mediates in both Dutch and English.
In addition, Ferry has extensive board-level experience as chairman of, among others, World Child Cancer, Stichting Japan Desk Ziekenhuis Amstelland, Rotary Amsterdam Spinoza, Stichting Japan Festival, De Nieuwe School, and Keizer Karel College.
