Amsterdam, October 12, 2021 – Saskia Reuling and Eva Schutte, founders of ReulingSchutte, will celebrate the ten-year anniversary of their firm on November 1st of this year, along with their colleagues. They are also pleased to welcome Anneleen Broekhuijsen-Molenaar and Margot van Cleef-Metsaars, respectively a judge at the Court of Appeal in Amsterdam and the Court of Appeal in The Hague, as new mediators at the firm. ReulingSchutte has observed that in recent years, business mediation and facilitated negotiation have increasingly become an alternative to going to court.
ReulingSchutte will reach its ten-year milestone in November, a special moment for founders Saskia Reuling and Eva Schutte. The Amsterdam-based firm has grown to become a leading player in the field of business mediation. “Eva and I recognized that mediation is an excellent alternative to traditional dispute resolution, and there was a market demand for it. We are proud that ReulingSchutte has become a strong brand in the span of ten years,” Saskia Reuling said.
Judges Margot van Cleef-Metsaars and Anneleen Broekhuijsen-Molenaar will join ReulingSchutte on September 1st and November 1st, respectively. Eva Schutte states, “We are thrilled with the arrival of these legal heavyweights. In addition to their roles as business mediators, they will also contribute to our office as process facilitators, independent chairs, arbitrators, and binding advisors. ReulingSchutte is increasingly active in these forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).”
Anneleen Broekhuijsen-Molenaar adds, “In mediation, we not only focus on the legal conflict but also take into account the different interests and backgrounds of the parties involved at an early stage. For many parties, mediation is a much more pleasant and accessible way to resolve a conflict than going to court. I am looking forward to the transition.” Margot van Cleef-Metsaars is also excited about the new challenge at ReulingSchutte, stating, “As a mediator, we don’t dwell on the past but instead focus on the present and the future. My role is to motivate parties to engage in productive conversations. I see mediation as a creative and solution-oriented process where I can leverage my years of experience as a judge.”
