Nelleke van Thiel-Wortmann
Nelleke van Thiel-Wortmann studied law at the University of Amsterdam. She started her career as a lawyer in Amsterdam, where she handled cases in the legal fields insurance, liability and employment. Subsequently Nelleke worked as a creative in the advertising industry and after that as a legal policy adviser – responsible for influencing procurement legislation (European and national) and negotiating contractual terms with clients and chain partners.
Nelleke focusses entirely on business mediations, guiding negotiations and process counselling in commercial disputes. She is well established in the world of construction and engineering, the public sector, professional services and the health and welfare sector. Nelleke has a great deal of experience in employment conflicts, disputes in the area of employee participation, insolvency and issues concerning commercial contracts. Furthermore she guides conflicts between organizations, within partnerships, management teams and project teams. She mediates in English and in Dutch.
Besides being a mediator Nelleke regularly acts as an independent chair of complaints and objections committees, particularly in case of complex or major reorganisations.
Nelleke publishes regularly. She is co-author of the Cahier Zakelijke Mediation (publisher Ars Aequi, a book about Business Mediation, board member of the Association for Mediators in Construction and Infrastructure and member of the Platform Business Mediation (PBM) and the Association of Dutch Mediators (NMv). She volunteers for De Regenboog, an organization that aides and supports people in poverty.
